| After a long, successful period of teaching
activity at the Bauhaus, in Weimar and Dessau, Klee is appointed professor
at the Düsseldorf Academy in 1931. His work enters its renowned pointillist
phase, in which his colorism reaches a culmination of subtlety and concision.
Yet this superb, finely articulated painting finds an abrupt end when
Klee – after the Nazi takeover – is suspended from his teaching
post in April 1933. |
