The exhibition concentrates on Warhol's striking creative principle of the series, exploring it by means of more than 100 works. His most significant series are displayed side by side with singles that have been detached from the series to which they belong. The works shown include pictures Warhol based on motifs drawn from comic strips and the consumer world, his Disaster pictures as well as his series of glamourous cult figures (Marilyn, Liz) and "icons" of art (Mona Lisa).
